I was very inspired by the photo wall from

Stephanie {Nie Nie} Neilson's kitchen...

i love the wall and wanted one just like it.

So this was a little project i did while

"cleaning" the basement today.

When we moved recently,

I collected all the many images I have printed

over the last 11 years {since welcoming our first child into the world} and put them in a box...

knowing what i wanted to do with them.

Today was the perfect rainy day to hang out in the

basement and work on the project. {ok...it did not take the day...just the hour that my 3 year old napped}

The box still has many more pictures...

and the wall has much more room.

I will add more...over time...but for now~ i just love it~

even with dreaded paneled wall in the background.

This little gallery {that may be tacky to some}

is just a reminder how lucky I really am...

because 12 years ago I never thought this wall would exist...

thank you for existing!

More than an Image...

Do we realize when we start our profession as a photographer that we will capture something that means so much to someone?

That just one image can bring a mom to tears...a mom who may have lost so much...but gained so much more and you've captured it...you have given her a peice of her heart for all to see.

Our clients all have stories...some may break our hearts...some make speak volumes about the kind of person they were...and are now.

We are given a chance to tell a story with each client...

many are happy stories.

The birth of the baby that took years to conceive...

The marriage of two people that

even makes the photographer cry...

I think we record more than an image

when we take a photograph,

we record the emotions, the love, the essence of who we are...

and who we have created.

What's in your camera bag?

be inspired to capture

As photographers, we are blessed with the ability to capture

and preserve our children lives.

We capture...and capture...and sometimes forget to preserve.

Isn't that the case with most of us...our walls are being reglected...and why? Because we can't make a decision due to all the choices we have?

For me it's more about choosing the perfect picture.

I envy the clients that make decisions so quickly~ how can they decide so fast when it takes me so long.

The choices are endless...we must choose {and preserve}.

Marketing materials and deciding on which to order...

more decisions...which images should be included...wish we could hire someone to make our decisions.

This wall just speaks to me...it tells a story {this families story} and it makes you want to be a part of it.

I adore this picture...the precious redhead, the chandelier hanging above her, the warmth of this kitchen...

how inspiring.

This families story is more than inspiring...

it's one of those things you just have to ask why...

why did this happen...many of you know this family from reading about the plane crash that almost took these two wonderful parents away from those four precious children.

We will feature 52 photographers in 52 weeks.

we will meet {& greet} our featured photographer.

Every week will be a little different depending on the photographer.

Some will answer questions...some will just tell us about their work {or what inspires them}...

we're gonna mix it up a little each week.

{Sunday}

we get to see more about this photographer and some of their favorite images...

{Monday}

we will take a peek into their homes {my favorite part} and see how they display their images on their own walls.

~For those who need to maintain some privacy, we understand...so we may divert to different things sometimes~

{Tuesday}

let's see their workspace...do they have a studio...we want to see it...what about marketing materials, packaging...show us... yes, we want to see it...and get inspired!
