Was one of your New Year’s goals to get your business more organized for 2012? Do you find yourself half way through January and still not having any clear direction? As a photographer I can completely understand this feeling. For years I could handle the photography, but I was at a complete loss when it came to bookkeeping. I created multiple spreadsheets to try to get organized and had files and files of paper, but I still didn’t manage to keep track of everything that I should have. I simply couldn’t come up with a way to manage my clients, my receipts, invoices, tax information, and everything else that I had completely left out because I didn’t know that I should be keeping up with it. One example was: Take the time periodically to back up important files, data, pictures, & things you've bought- actions, templates, workbooks, etc. The time it takes to back-up these important files on an external source is minimal compared to trying to get them back/recreate them, & some can't be replaced.
