the Studio Tour

We were thrilled to get these images from Amanda Padgham. Here is what she told us...

A little about our studio...

We are a natural light boutique studio located in Pittsford NY, which is in upstate NY about 20 minutes from Rochester. Our main focus is lifestyle children's portraiture although we do about 5-10 weddings a year, as well as some senior portraits. The studio is roughly 1000 sq feet and consists of our gallery room which is also the area where we show our clients their images on our flat screen tv (which has really helped our sales:-), a natural light shooting room (with a candy shelf for bribing lol), and our production area.

Today we take the flight across the world to our new home...we are all nervous and excited....filled with so many emotions. I will miss everything about this wonderful country.

I will also embrace everything wonderful about our new home in Japan

for the next year and a half.

An Office makeover

The Office Makeover by Kelli France

This was my office. I love my work but I HATED working in there. All the colors were dull and depressing. The clutter became chaotic. How can a girl be creative in a workspace like this? Although I ATTEMPTED to make it organized, I felt like the “stuff” was taking over the room and that the walls were coming in on me. You wouldn’t think your surroundings have that much affect on you but this room did. It totally effected every aspect of my life, including my creativity (or lack thereof) and my sense of control (or lack thereof). It was stressful just being in there. I wanted to make it a better but I felt it was silly to invest money in a room that hardly anyone else sees. But I see it. That’s the important thing. And so I changed it….drastically. I can’t tell you how much more HAPPY & PEACEFUL the *new and improved* office makes me feel. It is by far THE best investment I’ve made in 2010.

These just arrived yesterday and we are tickled pink to show them to you. They will be on the Savvy Store soon...for those who can't wait, email us to place an order until the site is ready. We have many sizes available and fabulous colors to offer...we love these.

crazy love...

It's Wednesday morning....and I have finally gotten a chance to get on the internet. We have been so busy the last few days filling our minds with great things to offer on the Savvy Store. The launch of the new site is scheduled for August first...the one year birthday of the Savvy blog. Such exciting things around the corner!

Guess who I had the pleasure of spending 2 hours with last night {me and thousands of other lucky people}...Michael Buble....yes, the adorable Michael Buble! The concert left us speechless...just in absolute awe! If you have a chance to see him on the Crazy Love tour, you must go...it was the best concert {party as he calls it} I have ever been to. The guy is handsome {incredibly handsome} but he is also funny...really funny. We were 6 rows from the front {yes... I touched his shoulder as he walked by}...I feel like a teenager after seeing Justin Beiber...we think we have a slight crush. The tickets were a present from my husband for me and my sister~ Thank you to my sweet husband. I wish he could have been there.

happiness...

Today ends our vacation in Fairhope....we are so sad to go. This place is divine~ I could seriously stay here forever. We are still going to be without internet until our arrival in Japan {which will be around July 24th}. I am a wifi seeking girl for the next two weeks...so please bear with me and the lack of blog post. I miss blogging everyday~ but I have missed my family more and I treasure this time with them. Thanks for bring patient!

celebrating...

Today we are in Fairhope, Alabama...one of my favorite places to vacation! We have a rental house on the water where the kids can swim all day and enjoy being kids. They are with their cousins...pure happiness...and I am with my sister and mom...life is good!

I hope you are enjoying the holiday...tomorrow is a big day for me...I will be leaving behind my thirties...wow...here's to being forty! This will be the best Birthday being with my family...wish my husband was here to enjoy it with us.
