Savvy Workshop 2012 Mpixpro

Finding a lab you love is one of the most challenging parts of running a photography business. They produce what you create and if that product isn't high quality, then you fail your client in delivering a superb product. When I found Millers and Mpixpro, I knew I had discovered a great find. They have continued to amaze me with their great customer service and top of the line offerings. And when two of my favorite photographers and 2012 Savvy workshop speakers, Jamie Schultz and Laura Winslow,  are Mpixpro experts, I knew I wanted them as workshop sponsors. They kindly agreed...and went above and beyond! Not only did they sponsor Jamie and Laura, they also gave a Savvy reader a full scholarship to the Savvy workshop and another lucky reader a partial scholarship to attend! Their donation gave these girls a chance to attend and if was a life changing workshop for them!
They sent lots of goodies for the attendees to see and also sent tons of giveaways for the attendees! I want to send a big thank you to Mpixpro for the kindness and generosity!!
If you haven't found your lab yet, give them a try!!

To learn more about attending the next Savvy Sisterhood workshop, visit the workshop blog. We would love to meet you there!!

Congratulations to our scholarship winner!

We are so excited to announce the scholarship winner to the Savvy Sisterhood 2012 Workshop!
Congratulations to Jesseca Bellemare!
It was such a hard decision choosing from so many great applicants...thank you so much to all of those girls who applied. Jesseca's photography spoke volumes to us...her words touched our hearts and her vision to change the way women feel about themselves made her a perfect choice as the Savvy Sisterhood Workshop Scholarship recipient.

Thank you so much to MpixPro for giving this amazing opportunity to one lucky girl! We love MpixPro...if you haven't tried them yet, you are missing out! They have the best team around and we consider the entire Millers/MpixPro part of the family here at the Savvy!

Packaging Week~ day four

I love the look of black and white! It always looks classy...and makes a simple, yet elegant, statement.
I added different embellishments to show how you can change up the look...the white tissue paper flower adds a more casual look...the black and flower gives it a whimsical look...it's all about preference. Or you can go completely classic and just use ribbons to dress up your packaging.

Packaging week~ day one

Mpixpro is our favorite lab {and Miller's Lab..they are "sister" labs} so we thought it would be fun to show the different ways you can make your packaging stand out to "wow" your clients... all while using the boutique packaging from Mpixpro. We love the clean look of the cream boxes and the simplicity of the chocolate brown grosgrain ribbon that Mpixpro offers...but dressing it up a bit can be fun and your clients will love it!
Each day this week we will feature a new look...enjoy the inspiration!

The 5x7 card is an example of the beautiful new Signature Letterpress Cards from Miller's Lab.
These cards are such great quality...and who doesn't love the feel of letterpress!

dining with the Pros

Finding a great lab makes doing our job so much easier...and when you find a lab that go above and beyond for you, it must be MpixPro. I can't say enough good things about this company! When we were getting ready for Imaging, I had a big {really important} order that arrived to my doorstep a few days before I was to leave for Nashville but the order wasn't mine...yikes! I was upset...I needed my order...fast. Within minutes of emailing, I had gotten a phone call from John at MpixPro. {wow...they called ME!} They literally jumped through hoops to get that order ready {100 custom printed DVD's...not an easy task} and it arrived in time! They even hand delivered one of my last minute orders to me at the tradeshow. We then had the absolute pleasure of joining the MpixPro crew for dinner at a fabulous restaurant the next evening. The dinner was great...our host and fellow companions at dinner were fabulous! I was in complete awe...we dined with Jamie Schultz {loved her!! seriously adored her}, her adorable assistant Natasha, the lovely Catherine Clay and Heather Crowder, Arden Ward and then there was Joe Dellasega from MpixPro...what a great guy and a wonderful host! The next table was full of fun people...too many to name! {I must admit...after the great wine...I just couldn't remember}.
So...back to the workshop! MpixPro send us three or four huge boxes full of goodies to share with the attendees...and we got to experience first hand how great it is to open a boutique packaged product! The chocolate brown grosgrain ribbon...the vanilla colored tissue paper...it's makes a huge difference when you package things nicely...the power of presentation! {and their boutique packaging is only $7...try it once and you'll love it}.
I can't say enough great things about this company!
A funny story happened at dinner that I just have to tell...I'll keep it short...at the end of dinner a sweet girl got up to thank the guys and girls at Mpixpro for dinner...and she went on to tell this story~ she was invited to this restaurant by another group of photographers that she met at the tradeshow...she told the hostess she was with a group of photographers so they took her to the room where we dined. She said she noticed she didn't recognize anyone she knew but still sat down and started talking to John...after about 5 minutes she realized this was not the group she was coming to meet but she was too embarrassed to leave. So she sat there with her big coat on the entire dinner...hiding her t-shirt that she was wearing. She had gotten her blue shirt that day from Imaging...and it was from a major competitor in the lab industry. After everyone had a good laugh from her story, she went on to tell that she now has a NEW lab...once she told John she wasn't supposed to be there, he ask her to stay. That shows how much everyone matters at MpixPro!

More pictures from the tradeshow...

{a side note... Mika Beth worked some magic in the photo of me...I only wish I looked like that...thank you Mika beth!}
