Welcome to the Savvy Photographer Mother's Day Giveaway!

We are thrilled to announce the fabulous giveaways~ but first we must go over the rules. You may enter only one time~ the comments must be moderated by me before they appear on the blog...if you don't see your comment right away it is because it has to be moderated. I do hope you all spread the word about the giveaway...follow us on twitter, tweet, "like" us on facebook, tell all of your forum friends about the giveaways.

For your entry, you must leave one comment and answer one of the following...

1. what was the best piece of advice your mom gave you?

2. what would you tell your mom now if you could {and if you still have that chance, have you told her? what is stopping you?
3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?

Just answer one and leave one comment with that answer.

  1. I would want my children to know that so much goes on behind the scenes in my heart - and sometimes I forget that they don't know that. <3 I love you I, A, A, and M. Without you, I would not be a mother.

  2. What a fabulous giveaway!!! Best piece of advice my mother ever gave me??? "Kill them with kindness!" ...and it still works to this day!

    ReplyDelete
  3. I would want my children to know if I wasn't around that I love them very much and that I was ALWAYS honest no matter what! I think it's a very important trait to have and they should as well.

    ReplyDelete
  4. If I wasn't around, I'd want my son to know that for years I struggled with not knowing what I wanted to do with my life... then I became his mother... and knew exactly what I was destined to be. Happy Mothers Day to all the mommies out there!!! :)

  5. The best piece of advice my mom gave me was that I could do anything I set my mind to. My mom is still alive and I tell her every time that I love her. I want my children to know that I am a strong woman and I absolutely adore them. Thanks for an awesome giveaway.

  6. I think the most important thing my mom did was show me how to never give up! Seeing her attend college in her 30s/40s after becoming completely blind, really taught me that if you really want it and fight for it you can accomplish anything! Although she sit me down for this advice, it was her daily example that gave me advice to succeed as an adult.

  7. What would I like my children to know if I was no longer here.....hmmm, good question! Since my husband and I are hoping to adopt an infant within the next year, I would have to say that I would really want my child to know how much they were loved by their birth parents, and how much of an incredibly unselfish choice they made in choosing life for "my" child. There is no greater gift I can imagine than to become a mom!

    ReplyDelete
  8. 3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?

That's a bit of a loaded question indeed. I would definitely want my girls to know how much I loved them and how beautiful they are, no matter their size. I have always struggled with self esteem issues and even though I know my parents always thought I was pretty, I never actually heard the words and I think that's so important in a young girl's development. I definitely do not want them to have the same struggles as I had and still have. I would want them to know that no matter what they want to do or be, they can as long as they believe in themselves. My wish for my girls is that they grow up to be strong, confident and loving women.

    ReplyDelete
  9. This is so amazing!

One thing I'd like my kids to know is that I love them always and forever and that I'm proud of them!

    ReplyDelete
  10. If I were not around I would want my son to know that he lit up my life and opened my heart in a way I never thought was possible!

  11. This is an amazing giveaway! The best piece of advice my mother gave me was to be a leader and not a follower. She told me that if I knew something was wrong and even if everyone else followed along, she taught me to stand up and say no. I am the strong, independent woman that I am today because of her.

  12. 1. what was the best piece of advice your mom gave you?

My Mom gave advice by living what she wanted us (the kids) to learn. She and my Dad, still living in their mid-80's, always showed us that having friends and keeping up with friends is one of the greatest things in life. So friends are the treasure of life!

    ReplyDelete
  13. the best advice my Mom ever gave me was anyone can have a boyfriend/husband if they are willing to settle ... don't settle

    ReplyDelete
  14. What a wonderful contest!!!

The best piece of advice my mother ever gave me was "You can have anything you want if you work hard enough." After many years of hard work I have a life that I am very proud of, and my mother has always reminded me not to stop pushing myself.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I absolutely love all the give aways... i am sooo excited..

    1. what was the best piece of advice your mom gave you?
For every door that closes another door will open, so don't give up or listen to people, you can do whatever you want even if it sounds impossible, work hard at what you want and eventually it will pay off but don't give up

    2. what would you tell your mom now if you could {and if you still have that chance, have you told her? what is stopping you?

I would tell her thank you... and look i'm really doing it.. the impossible.. i tell her frequently but she's away this weekend

    3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?

That i would want them to succeed at something they love, I love what i do and enjoy it i would want the same for them

    ReplyDelete
  16. My mom always says what a handful my boys are, but she is always available to babysit. And even if I don't need a sitter she is at our house anyways...or having grandkid withdrawls. So I would have to tell her that just being here for her grandkids makes it so much easier for me to be a working mother.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would want my daughter to know that I am a really strong and determined person, but also kind.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would like to tell my mom just how much I really love her and appreciate all the sacrafices she made for us when we were kids and mostly how much more I understand her now that I am a mother.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I miss my mom so much! I lost her young. I would tell her I miss her and I love her and all the wonderful things about my babies. (and now I'm crying!)

Thanks for a chance to win such wonderful prizes. you are all so incredibly generous. Happy Mothers Day!

    ReplyDelete
  20. What was the best piece of advice your mom gave you? "Don't worry so much! Do your best and leave the rest up to God. He will take care of you."

    ReplyDelete
  21. My mom's best advice: "Don't walk all over people just to get what you want... in due time you, if you work hard, you will get your 'reward' or 'recognition' "

    ReplyDelete
  22. #2: I would and do tell my mom regularly "Thank you for being my mom and not my friend when I was younger."

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ok this is the best giveaway ever. Seriously

I heard Beth Moore talk at the So Long, Insecurity simulcast and we had the chanced to ask her some questions. When asked about parenting she said, just make sure they know their momma loves Jesus. So that's what I'd want Jayci to know if I wasn't around, that I love Jesus passionately! :-)

xo to my wee ones ~and happy mother's day to all the moms!~

  31. I lost my mom in September, so this is the first Mother's day without her. I was pregnant at the time and my newest son is 6 weeks old. I'd tell her how much I love her and how amazing Boden is. I'd have to sneak in there how much Carter (my oldest son) has grown and a quirky story about him. Mostly I miss the everyday banter we had. Damn cancer.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?

I would want them to know that I did everything in the world to make sure they were taken care of properly, even when they thought I was being the meanest mom in the world. They already know how much I love them.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow that last one is a great question. I think I would like for them to know who I was outside of their mother, like who I am as a person.

This is my first Mother's Day for my youngest. Time goes by too quickly.

    :)

  34. The best piece of advice that my mom ever gave me was "be careful who you fall in love with". It wasn't said in a cynical, man hating kind of way, just practical words of wisdom learned the hard way. Without this advice, I think that there's a good chance that I wouldn't have waited it out for my true Mr. Right.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The best advice my Mom gave me was "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" So very true...Happy Mother's Day All!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh my goodness...what a grand give-away this is! Thank you for celebrating moms in such a wonderful way!!

    1. what was the best piece of advice your mom gave you? my mom taught me to always be gracious.

    ReplyDelete
  37. What would I tell my mum if I had the chance and whats stopping me?
I would tell her how hurt I am that she keeps trying to commit suicide. That I am heart broken that she who knows what it is like to be without a mother would try and do this to us.
Why I dont? Cause my Mum isn't my mum any more, and this new mum does not hear what we say, no matter how many times we say it, no matter how loud we say it.
    I miss my mum.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The one thing i would like to tell my mom now is what an amazingly strong woman she is. As a single mother i watched her struggle to raise my sister and i and she did an incredible job! Ive always looked up to her, she is my heart!

    ReplyDelete
  39. The one thing I would like for my children to know is How much they mean to me and how much I truely love them. They are absolutely my everything.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 1. what was the best piece of advice your mom gave you?
To always go after what you want in life...never give up until you reach your goal!
I think this is a wonderful thing that you do on your website! All of these give aways are so fabulous! You are super generous! Thank you for that! And even when you don't win, you still get to see all of these great products out there! I have commented and liked you on Facebook! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I would tell my mom(and I have and still do) that I want to be just like her. She is the most supportive, loving, honest, adoring mother I could ever imagine. Pregnant with my first child I can only hope to be as good a mother as she has been to me and I am so excited to bring a baby into the world with such a wonderful grandmother! I love you Mom!! XX

    ReplyDelete
  42. If I wasn't around, I would want my children to know that they made my heart swell with love everyday and that being their Mama was the happiest, most peaceful part of my life. Being cuddled up with the four of them all together was pure contentment.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Whats one thing I would like my children to know about me if I weren't around? This is something I have thought about often as my father died when I was 16. I always want my kids (I have 3) to know how much I love them. Since they could talk we have a ritual. I ask them 3 questions (usually at bedtime)...1. Who loves you? They answer "Mommy does", 2. How much do I love you? They answer "all the way to the moon and back", and 3. How long will I love you? They answer "forever".

I have always hoped that the repetion of this would stick in their little minds if something ever happened to me.

Let me say this is a FANTASTIC giveaway...I love my own mother very much...and you must make your mother very proud, and your children feel lucky. Happy Mothers Day!

    ReplyDelete
  44. One thing I would want my daughter to know if I wasn't around is that she is beautiful. She is unique and wonderfully made. She holds the power to accomplish such good in her life. She is loved, multiple times.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Question 2:
I would certainly tell my mom thank you for putting her life on hold to raise my brothers and me. I told her "I love you" a lot and had good times with her, but I don't know that I ever realy thanked her for that selfless service... I didn't even understand how often moms really do have to put their own lifes on hold until I became a mother (of 5). She died when I was a senior and she was only 42 - just before I graduated and she would have been able to fully do what she wanted in life, for herself and not us children. I am so grateful to her for devoting so muh time and energy in trying (& succeeding, I think) to raise good children and never acting like she begrudged the responsibility. I have faith and believe she knows how I feel, bit I SO wish I could talk to her and tell her all of this.

    ReplyDelete
  46. As an adoptive mom, I want my children to know that they were all chosen. In an adoption, there is no chance of accidents or unplanned children. We planned, schemed, worked, visited, dreamed, and got them! And I am the luckiest mom EVER because of it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 1. Life is too short to not to what you want to do.

    2. I would tell her that she is one of the most giving people I know. Her entire life is based around what she's done for other people...and not just her family. She definitely finds joy in being a servant to others.

    3. I would want my children to know I love Lord and following Him is the most important thing in life.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The best advice my mom gave me was when we were planning my wedding. She told me not to stress about everything, in the end....we were getting married and that's all that mattered. I really try to apply that advice to everything in life....do I need to sweat the small stuff...will it change the end result?

    ReplyDelete
  49. 1. The best piece of advice my mother gave was not to worry about what other peope think and do, worry about your own actions, comments, and thoughts and how they may affect them.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The best piece of advice my Mom gave me, love God and get yourself aligned with His plans, not yours.

    ReplyDelete
  51. what would you tell your mom now if you could {and if you still have that chance, have you told her? what is stopping you?
I would and have told her that she is my inspiration. Her love for life and her family is easily known and felt. I am so lucky to have a mom who has taught me how to be a good mother myself.

    ReplyDelete
  52. 1.) The best piece of advice my mom ever gave me was to never settle. I had some trouble with this one, but I never did settle. I finally met the "one" and we are getting married next year. Thanks mom!

    ReplyDelete
  53. 3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?

I would want my kids to know, that I never gave up, I chased my dreams, took a risk and lived my life to the fulliest, with no regrets. I hope that is how they chase their dreams and live theirs.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The one thing I would want my children to know if I was not around is how much every fiber in my being loved them. All that I did in my life was for them, and all that I am was because of them.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'll answer #1:

The best advice my mom gave me was to be myself.

I LOVE this advice because it is easy advice to follow. It is so much easier to be yourself than to put the effort forth to copy someone else or do something that isn't within your values.

Thanks for the great giveaway and Happy Mother's Day to everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  56. The best piece of advice my mom ever gave me? Well alot of moms say it but it was to learn from your mistakes because in life there will be alot of them but you just have to take them and learn from them to better your self and your situation..

    ReplyDelete
  57. wow. one piece of advice from my mom. there's so many. :) one that comes to mind and i use all the time and share with others...if you're not sure, don't do it. considering my indecisiveness at times, her advice has guided many decisions...both in everyday life and in business decisions.

    ReplyDelete
  58. My mom taught me that I can get through anything as long as I believe in myself. The sky is the limit!

    ReplyDelete
  59. So exciting! If I were not around, I'd want my kids to know that, I love them, and no matter what, they should always go for their dreams, and they can do absolutely anything. Sounds cliche, but it's true - I'd want my girls to get the most out of their lives!

    ReplyDelete
  60. If I was not around, I would want my children to know that everything that I did for them was to keep their hearts and minds close to Jesus. To live with a giving and kind heart, to be humble and modest. I would want them to remember that life isn't about yesterday or tomorrow, it's about today and to cherish every moment. And that I love them more than any word could ever describe.

    ReplyDelete
  61. 1. what was the best piece of advice your mom gave you?

I would say the best piece of advice my mama ever gave me was, "listen to your heart."

    2. what would you tell your mom now if you could {and if you still have that chance, have you told her? what is stopping you?

I feel that the most important thing to tell the ones you love is simply, "I love you." They are very powerful words. Those were the last words I spoke to my mother, not knowing they would be my last words to her. If I ever had the chance to see her again, I would wrap my arms around her, squeeze her tight and say it again. "I love you, Mama."

    3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?

I would want my children to know that they were the #1 most important thing in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  62. gosh this is hard..
my mom passed away almost 3 years ago..
we had a really rocky relationship, ups and downs..
if I could tell her one thing, I'd like to tell her that even though I don't understand the reasons, I forgive her and do love her.
    ♥ much love mom ♥

    ReplyDelete
  63. 1. This is a hard one. I always go to my mom for advice. But what is the best advice she ever gave me. To narrow that down... She taught me respect myself and told me not to let others bring me down and to try not to bring others down. To be strong and to remember that I always have my family as my rock.

    ReplyDelete
  64. What I'd want my kids to know if I weren't around.... Is that the love that me and their father shared, was unconditional. After a decade together, he still holds his breath when I walk in a room, and I still get butterflies anticipating his embrace. I want them to know that, THAT is what love is...it never tires, never falters, and only grows stronger with time and distance. I want them to find that one day... true love, and when they do... to know its power.

    ReplyDelete
  65. How fun! The best piece of advice my Mom has given me came when I was very young:

You don't have to be perfect at everything you do. You just have to try your best.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think if I weren't around, I would of course want my girls to know I love them... but more important than that, I'd want them to really understand that their heavenly Father loves them with a love greater than I've ever been able to share. That His love is enough for them. That their life can be full and wonderful without me as long as they cling to Him. That's kind of one thing... :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. 3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?

If I weren't around I would want my children to remember how much I loved them and that they were my passion and inspiration for everything that I did in my life. That I was loving, fun to be around and passionate about life. :-)

  68. This is an amazing mothers days day gift.... My grandmother always told me to remeber to laugh, even whe I feel like pullingmy hair out. To enjoy the lil moments with me and my lil one, cause they won;t last for long. So instead of getting upsset, laugh it off, it will pass. I Find myself doing alot of this through this terrible two stage..It's actually working :) Before my grandmother passed away we had the oppertunity to go and visit her, my lil girl was the last of the great grandchildren she had not met, so we hopped on a plane just to sit with her in those last few days. I had the chance to tell her how much I appricated her, and everyhting she did for me as a child, molding me into the best mom I can be for Abigail. It will be a year from August and oh boy has it been hard. Not having her to call looking for guidence and showing her how big Abigail is getting but she knew how much we loved her and she is probably looking down seeing it as well. I want Abigail to know that my wrold revolves around her and she has made my life so much better. She pushes me to my limits, making me even stronger for her. I adore even if she steels the covers at night. (co-sleepers) if you haven;t tried it, there's nothing like waking up to a smiling two year old telling you "goodmining momma, get up get up" I Cheerish these moments. I Hope the rest of the moms ut there have an amazong day but most importantly have some special time with thier children.

  69. What would I tell my mom if I still had the chance?

That I do love you, no matter what our differences were. that I hope and pray that I could be 1/2 the parent that she was. A mother of 4, and I'm only a parent of 1! And most importantly, that I should have listened...more!

Love ya Mom ! You've been gone 26 years, but I know you are still around!

  71. WOW! What an absolutely amazing giveaway!! If I weren't around the one thing I would want my children to know is that they brought me more joy than anything else in the world. I would want them to to know that although I didn't always get it right, I yelled sometimes, was preoccupied at times, and fed them macaroni and cheese more than I should have, that I loved them so much that at times I thought my heart would just explode. I would want them to know they were absolutely perfect in my eyes and that I all I really wanted in life was for them to be happy! Happy Mother's Day to all the Savvy moms!!

  78. 1). My mom taught me photography & the best piece of advise she ever gave me was to "take your time & look around you." I hear this in my head often when during a shoot, but also during real life. Slow down. Look around. Appreciate the beauty. XOXO

  79. First, thank you for this blog - I come here for information and inspiration. These giveaways are the icing on the cake!

My mom has given me many good pieces of advice. Such a wise lady. One of the most recent was to be incredibly discerning about jumping into the middle of someone else's "stuff" (drama, situation, problem, etc...). You can still be a compassionate and caring friend/parent without jumping way in. Sometimes people have to go through things to continue on their journey and if you mess with that too much you could be hurting them and/or yourself in the long run.

  80. I would tell my mom she was right about soooo many things and that she knew way more than I gave her credit for. I don't have the opportunity to tell her, I hope someone takes the opportunity today and everyday to tell their mom how much they mean to you.

  81. OMG! How cool! :O)
This is an amazing give away! WOW!
my answere is for question #3....

I would want my kids to know that I never wasted a minute of my life. I lived it to the fullest and enjoyed every moment, and I'd want them to do the same! I would want them to know that they were the most important thing in my life and I loved them with all my heart, more than life itself!

    Thanks for this amazing opportunity!

  82. I lost my dad when I was pretty young, so I often give thought to my own children and what it would be like for them if I were gone. What I would want them to know more than anything is how great my love is for them. I know it sounds simple, but no matter what I have learned about my dad over the years, I know without a doubt that he loved me and that is a very powerful thing. I tell my boys many time every day that I love them, but, more importantly, I try to show them every day just how much I love them. The laundry might not be done, the house might not look perfect - but I spend time on the floor with my boys every day, I try to pay attention and really listen to them, to teach, to play, and to love every day.
    Happy Mother's Day!!

  83. My mom and I didn't have the greatest relationship growing up. We were always at odds with each other. I would tell my mom that if I had the opportunity to redo my childhood, I would do it differently with her.

    ReplyDelete
  84. 3. If I wasn't around I would want my children to know that I love them more than anything. Because really, that is all that matters.

  85. 1. what was the best piece of advice your mom gave you? I remember asking her how she knew she was ready to be a mom... at the time I wasn't sure if we were financially ready. She said, if you wait until you think you have enough $$ or are the perfect age etc., you'll never be ready. And she was right- I'm so glad we started our family when we did.

    2. what would you tell your mom now if you could {and if you still have that chance, have you told her? what is stopping you? How much I appreciate the sacrifices her and my dad made for us. She worked a really crappy job just so my brother and I could go to college (without student loans) To this day I'm so grateful that I was able to graduate and not have that kind of debt hanging over my head. And, I'm glad that I have told her that!

    3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?
Wow, that's tough... the obvious one is wanting them to know how absolutely in love with them I am, but I want them to know that they can do ANYTHING they want- not to listen to people who tell them they're too small, too young, not qualified... whatever. They're special and they have a ton to offer this world.

  86. the best piece of advice my mom ever gave me was: Love yourself first and foremost. If you don't love yourself, how do you expect to be able to love anyone else? I have found that this has stood true in all types of situations, and interpretated can also translate into, you can only control your own actions, and your reactions to others actions. You can not control another person. So, basically you're in charge of your own domain :) This has helped me through MANY situations. Thanks Mom! Love you!

  89. This giveaway is simply amazing! you're amazing! This is a two for one answer: My mother always tell me life is not worth living if it's not filled with love. 91. 1. The best advice my mom has given me is to pick your battles. Does it really matter if he wants to wear the red shirt instead of the blue one I picked out? Not in the long run, so don't sweat it.

    2. I should really tell my mom that NOW I realize how hard she worked. As a single mom, going to college, and working full time, I don't know how she did it. I've got a husband and two college degrees already behind me. I've got it easy!

    3. I would want my son to know how very much I love him. Words cannot express the size of my love, so I hope he would feel it!

  96. 1. what was the best piece of advice your mom gave you? To march to my own drum beat (I was in band) and staying true to myself always. These 2 key pieces always guides me when I question myself and help me get to where I want to be.

    2. what would you tell your mom now if you could {and if you still have that chance, have you told her? what is stopping you?) I talk to her weekly, and because I know our time is precious and short - we never end our call with a good-bye, we always say "I love you" at least twice before hanging up. When I have issues with my kids and realize what I must have put her through as a teen - I call her and apologize instantly!

    3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around? That they are my world. They inspire me daily to do better which I hope in turn inspires them to do better each day.

  100. Wow, what amazing giveaways. If I could tell my kids ones thing, it would be to always remember who you are and don't let what other people say make you change who you are. My mom never told me this or gave me the confidence to be who I am, so it took me a long time and a lot of hurt to figure this out.

  101. The best advice my mom gave me wasn't anything she said, but how she lived her life. My parents divorced when I was in elementary school; until then my mom had stayed home with us. After, she took 2 jobs to support us 3 girls, always putting her needs and wants last. By doing this she demonstrated the self sacrifice and hard work you have to go through to be a good mother. Happy Mother's Day everyone!

  102. I could just pick up the phone and call my mom now to tell her this, and I have told her. I have never once felt like I wasn't supported to live my dreams big. She (and my dad) are instrumental in my pursuing my dream of being a photographer. She loves me through my decisions, talks me through it when I am having a major stress moment, and will take the time to listen when I call. I know it sounds corny, but my mom really is my best friend and I would definitely be lost without her.
Thanks for putting this wonderful contest together!

  103. I lost my mom suddenly 3 years ago, at the time myself and my 2 sisters were all about 6 months pregant. So Mother's day is always a bitter sweet day, a day that we remember how amazing our mom was and celebrate being a mom.

What I would say to my mom...

    Dear Mom...

We miss you every day, but especially on Mother's Day. You have blessed us in so many ways, showing us what the true qualities of being a Mother...love, patience, kindness and selflessness. The older I get the more I want to be like you. I yearn to cook your Kringler and creamed peas recipe and hope they taste the same(most of the time they don't), I strive to have as much energy to keep my house as spic and span as you did (how did you do that!). I pray everyday for my children and with them, just like I remember you doing. I hope to show my kids the never ending support in all they do, as you did. (When I looked up in the stands I knew you would be there cheering!) I try to be a friend, mother and wife with the same kindness and compassion that you had. We tell the boys stories about you and they will always remeber. We are lucky to have had you in our lives, as short as it was, lucky we are! Miss you everyday!
    Your Daughter,
    Heidi

  105. If I could tell my mom one thing it would be how sorry I am for wasting so many years being angry and bitter. Things are good now between us and it took me having children of my own to realize the things parents go through and what they do out of love. She's a saint in my book for raising four kids, it is difficult with two!

Thanks and have a Happy Mother's Day!!

  109. One thing I would want my children to know is how much I have learned because of them. They have enhanced my love for life, taught me that life can certainly be a bit messy, that laughter can make a difference in the day, and how just one single picture can show how innocent they truly are even in the moments of them being devilish. Through them I have learned how much I truly adore being a Mom. I have become a stronger person because of them and without them in my life I would not be who I am at this very moment.

Such a hard question.. I was recently diagnosed with an illness in December and this question has popped into my mind more times than you could know. I would want them to know how much I love them, adore them, and admire them. They are my world, they teach me so much about myself and make me a better person everyday.. and would want them to know and remember that and me forever.

  132. When I was a little girl, I used to collect feathers. One day, I was about 4 years old, sitting in our kitchen looking at my feathers and trying to identify which bird they were from. I looked up at my mom with a sad pout on my face and said, "I wish I had feathers so that I could fly," {Except I had a bad lisp so it sounded more like "I wisth I had feaders so dat I could fwy."}

And she looked at me and said, "You have a whole box of feathers. So, fly." I stared at her obviously confused. Had my mother gone crazy? Possibly. Instead, she leaned over and grabbed a handful of feathers from my box tucking them under her arms and mine. She began flapping her "wings" and flying around the house. I quickly followed her, my brother and sister right behind us tucking their own feathers in their arms.

And for one day, we all flew like birds.

The best piece of advice my mom ever gave me is that you're never too old to play. Enjoy life. Have fun. Don't let inhibitions stop you from doing something you want to do.

  134. 1. Best piece of advice my mother gave me was that I could do or be anything I wanted to when I grew up--IF I was willing to do the work and pay the price--and she always encouraged me to follow my dreams. On the other hand, she did tell me I needed to plan on a "real" job when I told her I was going to grow up and be a writer/photographer. She's since told me that particular piece of advice was overrated.

    2. One thing I would tell my mom (and I have--thankfully, she's still around to talk to) is to thank her for encouraging me to follow my dreams even when they didn't fit what was expected of girls in that particular time and society. Even when everyone else was trying to discourage me, my mom (and my dad) were still my biggest supporters.

    3. What would I want my kids to know (and I try to make sure they do)--there is NOTHING in my life more important than my kids and their dad. I love them unconditionally and will support them in following their dreams, too, no matter where they may lead them.

  138. If I were to be gone tomorrow, asside from the standard "how much I love and adore my children" I would want them to understand that life is all about choices. Any one persons life can be viewed as a tragedy or a triumph. I choose to see mine as a triumph. I have faced many challanges, just as everyone does, and each of those have made me who I am. Each choice I have made had brought me to where I am today, and my choices today will bring me to my tomorrow. I would hope that my children are also able to find the positives, and see their lives as blessings and opportunities.

Its amazing to look at them and know that I helped create them and nourished them inside me for 9 months. 154. I need to tell my mother that I love her. I get held back because I have difficulties saying that to anyone. I don't know why - but it holds me back and I hate it! I need to get the courage to step up and say "I love you Mom! Thank you for ALL you have done for me!"

  155. Wow, AMAZING give away, thank you!

#3. If I weren't around, I would want my children to know how very, very, much I love them. How I would give up anything for them and stand beside them 100% if all they do. I have written them both a letter that I keep in my journal telling them this and many more things. But most importantly is for them to know how much they are loved.

  157. The best piece of advice my mother gave me was to always be myself. It's so easy, especially as a young girl, to try to mold who you are by looking at those around you. My mom instilled in me from a very young age that I was special and unique, just the was I was. I know it sounds cliche but it's a very powerful lesson. :)

  158. #2. I would tell my mom how grateful I am that she has such a great presence in her grandkids lives. I am truly blessed to have a great relationship with my mom that has extended to my children. I never had that with my grandparents and I cherish the time we get to spend with my mom. We take advantage of it every chance we get.

  163. #3. what is the one thing you would want your children to know about you if you weren't around?

Of course the answer is that I LOVE them with all my heart! But maybe also that my daughter taught me to enjoy the little moments in life! It's not all about running around and fullfiling your dreams (which I want her to do)...but life is FILLED with moments worth stopping for!! Those giggles, those winks, those sand filled andventures, those underdog swings, those "look at me Mommy" moments...they all add up over a life time and what a site to see...there is no greater joy then to become a mother!! I couldn't have experienced this joy with out my baby!! I always say that my daughters birthday is my FAVORITE day in the whole wide world....above Christmas, Easter, even Mother's day!! Thank for that gift...I love you sweetheart!!

The best advice my Mom ever gave me was to forgive. She said that you can't keep dragging the same fight back up everytime you get angry. You have to forgive. This has been so applicable in my marriage, my friendships, my parenting, my work. Thanks, Mom!

  169. Q what would you tell your mom now if you could {and if you still have that chance, have you told her? what is stopping you?

A One year ago, just before mothers day my mom began her chemo treatments, at that time i left my husband and children to go live with my mom in another state to help her through those treatments. I spent 8 months with her as her full time caregiver as we moved passed chemo and into hospice.I was given the best mothers day present last year with the gift of time with my mom.... I was able to share many stories and say everything i ever wanted to say to her. My mother lost the battle just before thanksgiving this past year.

so here we are with mothers day nearing and the one thing i would love to say to her today if i could would be " happy mothers day, I love you , you're the best!"

Sunday(mother's day) will be the hardest day ever for me ! what a difference a year makes,so much can happen in just a short amount of time.

  178. Wow. What an amazing round up of gifts, Savvy and all your sponsors, you are amazing.

I will choose to answer #2.

My Mother is amazing, four children in sixteen years meant that she had terrible teenagers and newborns at the same time. I remember yelling at her when I was 16 telling her I would never be like her in a million years. Fast forward 25 years give or take and I am very much like my Mom. I made sure to apologize and Thank her for tolerating my teenage years and being such a rock in my life. She just laughed it off, but I knew I hurt her back then, so apologizing was very important to her. It is an honour for me to be so much like my Mom.

Well I technically have 2 moms, my birth mom, and my Grandma who raised me as her daughter.

-to my birth mom, I would tell her that I am no longer mad that she didn't raise me. That I am very thankful, life turned out the way it did, because in the long run, it was the better decision.

-To my Grandma/Mom I would tell her sorry for all the misery I put her through while I was growing up, and trying to find my identity. Thank you Mom for always supporting me, and allowing me to venture into whatever I loved. Your guidance helped me find my path in life, thanks for always being my biggest supporter. You will always be the only mom I have ever known, I love you always.
