who truly is the sweetest thing,
but lemonade won.

Awesome giveaway:) My favorite sweet is an iced mocha and red velvet whoopie pie from Starbucks--unfortunately the nearest one is 2 hours away!
ReplyDeleteA baby's neck is the sweetest thing to kiss and sniff
ReplyDeleteVisiting this store is like visiting a bakery full of sweets. My favorite sweet is a large tray of fudge brownies. (which I have be known to eat all by myself!)
ReplyDeleteThe sweetest thing is a Family Movie Night on "The Boat" {our huge bed} with a bowl of popcorn and giggling kids! Its always the simplest things that give you the most sweetness!
ReplyDeleteI love this store. She is beyond talented. My favorite sweet thing is chubby baby cheeks. Really either set of cheeks. :) They are both adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteMy blog would be SO much sweeter with these designs! My favorite sweet is:
ReplyDeletechocolate cream cheese frosting (with or without a cupcake) :)
1 8oz cream cheese block, softened
1 stick of butter, softened
1 T vanilla
2 cups sifted powdered sugar
1/3 cup sifted unsweetened coco powder
beat together and enjoy :)
I'm loving early morning snuggles from my 18 month old right now, especially because he won't be my "baby" much longer! These moments are my sweetest thing!
ReplyDeleteI love a sweet, sweet ice cold watermelon in the hot summertime!!! I's so hard to find one that is as sweet as I remember them from my childhood!
ReplyDeleteOhh what a great give-away. My favorite sweet thing has to be cheesecake, no wait, brownies, umm, or how about chocolate chip cookies, ugh, turns out I like a lot of sweet things!
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite Sweet Thing:
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet thing
Would just have to be
A warm, cozy, squishy,
newborn baby.
With arms tucked up close
and legs squished up high
downy soft skin,
and itty-bitty cry.
Everything is tiny
From their ears to their toes-
their tiny little mouth,
and even tinier little nose.
Vanilla, Sugar, Icecream- Maybe.
Nothing- no, nothing
is sweeter than a newborn baby ♥

Awesome giveaway! I must say that I just finished sampling the SWEETEST cupcake made by a friend of mine - Coconut caramel - it was divine!!! Definitely a new fave!!!
ReplyDeleteMy MOST FAVORITE "sweet thing" is the breath of a newborn baby. When mine were newborns I could just drink in their brand new smell. Such perfection, so much possibility and just completely pure.
ReplyDeleteHoly beautiful!!! I LOVE the hello set.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet? Do I have to pick just one??
Right now: Caramel creams!!
My favorite sweet thing isn't necessarily a thing, or maybe it is...lol...it's that sweet grin you get from kids when you are photographing them and they ask to see themselves and you show them on the camera...I would love to bottle that up and save it for a rainy day!!!

OK, I'll try to make this short&sweet. (no pun intended) When I was about 6yo I told mom/dad that I wanted a baby brother or sister. Mom said she wasn't able to have anymore kids. Seriously. The Dr had told her that her ovaries were like super dried up raisins and no chance of them making anymore eggs. So I prayed...and prayed..literally every night. When I was 8yo, mom wasn't feeling so well and found out she was 6mo pregnant! I remember the day like it was yesterday. Going to the hospital and walking up to the nursery window, telling the nurse who I was looking for. She slowly pushed the crib to the front so I could see. I just stood there. Staring at him with tears running down my face. God had answered my prayers and that little baby boy was the "sweetest" thing I had ever seen. From that day on, we've been best friends. He was the Man-of-Honor at my wedding. I am now 39 and I can't imagine my life without him. The best brother and an awesome Uncle. The Sweetest gift I've ever received.
ReplyDeleteWow this is so awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet thing is my little girl who is so loving and loves chocolate! So her and I in jammies, snuggling on the couch, while eating chocolate is the SWEETEST spot in the world!
Oh love Deluxe Modern! I have been eyeing these new blog designs and they have so much fun stuff in their shop. My favorite sweet thing is summertime at the lake with my feet in the sand and soaking up sunshine!
ReplyDeletewhat a cool giveaway!! I've always loved your designs!! My favorite sweet thing is a very rare moment, but I savor it when I get it! It is when I can sneak away for a little time to myself in a swing on my deck to have some quiet me time and to get to read a book! It's simple & nothing big I know but I love it when I get to do it!! :)
ReplyDeleteI just about died when I heard there was a giveaway for Deluxe Modern blog stuff. I want it so bad but can't justify the cost just yet!
ReplyDeleteSo many different sweet things. My favorite sweet thing, is taking a drive up the coast with my husband and my 8 month old laughing and playing in the backseat. Barely any traffic, the sun is bright with pretty clouds. Favorite songs are playing with the windows down and the breeze in your face. Every time this happens in my life I get a huge smile and my heart swells and I think to myself to never forget this moment because it might be the greatest in your life right now and you couldn't be happier.
I could have said the day I got married, my son was born, yada yada but those are all givens. I'm talking the kind of spontaneous moment that Life gives you sometimes :)

My absolute favorite sweet thing, is snuggling my baby girl at bedtime. Fat thumb in her mouth, sweaty wispy hairs on her face, golden light sneaking into the room through the edges of her curtain, her blankie draped across both of us... sweet bliss.
ReplyDeleteSweet...my favorite sweet thing is sweet tarts...but I must share the "sweetest" comment I heard the other day. As I was editing a wedding my oldest daughter (5) came in the room...she asked if she could sit on my lab while I worked and she looked up at me and said..."Will you shoot my wedding someday?" I explained to her I hoped to be in it...and her eyes started to sparkle and she said..."You would do that mom..you would help me with my wedding and help me get ready..."...then...wait for it..."That's because you are my best friend". Ugggh...so sweet...melts my heart every time. Especially when she follows up with..."want some lov'ins?" SWEET!
ReplyDeleteI love cupcakes!!!
ReplyDeleteThe day a precious child is placed in her mamas loving arms and becomes Orphaned NO More...
ReplyDeleteThe sweetest thing I know are sweet baby kisses from my girly Harper, A's we rock and sing each night before bed, followed by the sweetest "yub you" as I put her in her bed.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet thing is hearing my hubby tell me how beautiful I am and what a good mom that I am. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet thing is waking up to snuggles from my two boys and knowing that the day is just going to get better from there. Now for the sweet food stuff I would have to say a which mocha latte with caramel in it the way my husband gets it for me at Starbucks. I don't know if it's just him getting it for me that makes it that much sweeter or what he puts in it. :-)
ReplyDeletemy favorite sweet thing has to be my son's sweet little button nose...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet thing is the "Super-Man" kiss my two year old son gives me every morning before he leaves for preschool. Sometimes it is the littlest things that make the biggest memories.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet thing is this "Sweet Baby Boy" growing in my belly. I'm anxiously awaiting his arrival in August and a new blog to work on while I'm on maternity leave would be wonderful! A Blog update has been on my to-do list forever. Thanks for the opportunity to win! That is Sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet thing is something my boyfriend did for me last month-we had just gotten back to the hotel room after his college graduation ceremony. We were tired, VERY sunburned, hungry and had terrible headaches from being dehydrated. I think he was feeling worse than I was, but instead of taking care of himself, he told me to go lay down on the bed and he came back with a cool, wet washcloth and put it on my sunburn. It was one of the sweetest things he's ever done!
ReplyDeleteSweet..is finding out this week that we are having a baby BOY!! We have 3 girls we just adore and adding a baby brother is going to be truly SWEET!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway, these deluxe modern blog kits are super amazing!!
I LOVE THIS SET!!!
ReplyDeleteSweetest thing to me lately is my 6 yr old picking dandelions nad presenting them to me like they are a bouquet of long stemmed roses! They are to me :)!
Fav sweet food: Chocolate cake pretty much can always hit the spot. Especially paired with strawberries. YUM!
ReplyDeleteFav sweetest thing: My sweet nieces and nephews. The laughs and hugs are my favorite. (They just left to go back home in a different state, but they are still fresh in my mind. Miss them)
one word to describe this cupcake is A M A Z I N G ! i got this recipe a few years ago from ina garten. however, to make it faster and easier, i use a dark chocolate cake mix.
ReplyDelete(see this link to my blog for a picture of them! http://babypixphotography.blogspot.com/2010/09/chocolate-peanut-butter-cupcakes.html)
this recipe makes enough for 24 cupcakes.
CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER CUPCAKES
1 box dark chocolate cake mix
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
5 TBSP butter, at room temp
3/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 tsp kosher salt (makes a difference)
1/3 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
bake cake according to the box. for the icing: place sugar, peanut butter, butter, vanilla and salt in a bowl. mix on low until creamy, scraping down the sides. add cream and beat on high until light and smooth. ice cooled cupcakes and sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
i use an icing bag with a large star tip and swirl the icing on.
The absolutely sweetest thing to me isn't a thing, but my new granddaughter! She was due on my birthday, but she just couldn't wait to greet the world and arrived 25 hours earlier. She tried her best to be a birthday present - isn't that sweet? She had the most beautifully shaped head, lovely rose bud lips, and the perfect 10 fingers and pink toes. Her Mom and Dad are pretty sweet themselves as they honored my mother and grandmother by naming her Lily (Lillian), for the two wonderful women that came before her and are her guardian angels. Life sure is sweet, eh?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, let me just state for the record that Christine's talents rock it out!!! She brings it like none other (even if she works in her pajamas!).
ReplyDeleteAs for sweet, my husband, now that's sweet! I could go on and on about how much he loves me and what a great father he is...blah, blah, blah but all wives say that. What really makes my husband sweet is the fact that he is kind. He is kind to strangers. He is kind to the person that brings him coffee. He always overtips. He can't hang up on a telemarketer ( I cannot say the same for myself), he buys anything a kid is selling at our door. He is patient. He supports me and my need to be creative and run a business for myself. And to top it all off, he's pretty good lookin' too, with a keister that could stop traffic. NOW THAT'S SWEET!!!
The sweetest thing I love is hearing the sweet sound of my 4 year old son giggle when playing with his 2 older brothers. It is the sweet sound of childhood innocence and imagination. There are no inhibitions, just giggles and belly laughs coming from my 3 boys. I want to bottle that sound up and cherish it forever!
ReplyDeleteLove the templates and would love even more to win one!! Thanks for a great "sweet" giveaway!
Right now my favorite sweet thing is the chocolate coffee soufle I had for dessert!
ReplyDeleteRecipe:
1 box dark chocolate cake mix
3 eggs
3 tbls veggie oil
1 package dark chocolate chips
3.5 cups brewed coffee
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
vanilla ice cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, coat rectangular baking dish
Mix cake mix, eggs, oil & 1 cup brewed coffee and beat for two minutes, then pour into baking dish.
Sprinkle brown sugar & cocoa powder over batter.
Pour remaining 2.5 cups hot coffee over top of batter.
Bake until top is puffed, about 40 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve a la mode with vanilla ice cream.
This is the closest thing I've gotten to a molten chocolate lava cake at home. Yum!
Ain't lLOVE the sweetest thing. Oh ho oh, the sweetest thing.

Sweet to me is hearing those four amazing words for the first time from your child "I wuv you Mama." Sigh. It never gets old, but there is something so sweet about hearing it the first time.
ReplyDeleteThe slight
ReplyDeletecaramel glow
of her
rounded shoulders,
her plump tummy
~ whispers of our
first summer ~
memories floating by
like the
soft cotton tufts
in the humid
June air.
As she takes her perch
upon my side,
instinctively her
chubby arm
wraps tightly
around mine,
anchoring her there.
The comfort I find
in that small habit
overwhelms me
more than I’m prepared for.
I know
how much my heart
longs to see her
each morning
as I quietly
approach her,
sleeping sweetly.
Butterscotch tendrils
curl haphazardly
around her
angel’s face.
A subconscious smile
dances across her
rosebud lips.
A slight dimple
the only
“imperfection”
in her creamy complexion,
glistening
with traces of a
deep summer sleep.
Gently,
I lift her to me,
bringing her home
to the crook
in my neck,
where we both
awaken
to the deliciously sweet
fragrances
of one another.
I wonder
if she treasures
these moments
as much as I do.
Then,
I feel the squeeze
of her grasp
clinging to me again,
and
I smile
knowing that
she is
her
Momma’s Girl.
I just submitted a comment that was supposed to be a preview - it may have been submitted under my Google account, though I wanted to use the Name/URL that I've attached to this comment.
ReplyDeleteThank you for such an amazing give-away. I can only imagine how much time this would free up to spend with my sweet girl! Thank you!
The sweetest thing to me is seeing someone's smile the first time they see the portraits that I've taken of their family.....wait, no, the ABSOLUTE sweetest thing is when they say, "Oh my goodness! I love this one.... this one too! I can't pick my favorite one!"
ReplyDeleteThis is all new to me because I'm just starting out. I feel like I'm living an absolute dream right now. Life is sweet.
I love this designs!
ReplyDeleteThe sweetest thing for me has to be my 11yr old boy. This week he has cooked dinner, washed up, and done the laundry {yes, even seperated the whites and brights} because I have been unwell this week. My girls have been very sweet this week too, and have developed a love of Henry the Hoover! I am so lucky to have such loving children {they aren't this angelic all the time lol}
My favorite sweet thing is an early morning on a quiet beach with my two kids: beautiful blue skies sweetened by white clouds and gorgeous light, the rush of waves upon the shore, light, white sand and sunkissed foreheads. This is bliss.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Sweet thing.
I have too many to write here that include of course my husband, daughters and family but the sweetest thing right now is the sight of my brother who is currently serving with the USMC. In the last 8 years I have seen him a handful of time between deployments and his traveling and as he gets ready yet again to deploy in three weeks the sweetest thing will be when I get to give him a hug next week when I visit him. It has been far too long since I have seen him and it will be far too long before I see him again. The sweetest things in life are truly the simplest. And for me it does not cost money and I do not take it for granted. It is as simple as a hug from one of the greatest men I know.
Oh all these posts are just so great and I LOVE this design soooo much I'd love to have it. I've got 15 minutes to think of my favorite sweet thing but all I can think of is my little baby girl. 20 months old with her dimply little buns and her curly mop of hair, across her little chair swinging her legs and laughing. That's my sweetest thing. I just can't help it. I'm a certified chocoholic, a pastry chef, a lover of all things sweet including the tequila agave glazed Mexican chicken I made last night but my most favorite, most delicious, most wonderful thing in the whole wide world is my Viviana Rose.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet thing is a hot cappuccino, made complete by being surrounded by my precious children and loving husband. They are God's greatest gifts to me.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE Deluxe Modern Design!! These blog templates are absolutely amazing!!
ReplyDeleteThe sweetest thing for me was my grandmother. She was there since before I was born, and has been there for me my entire life. Always so kind and caring, selfless and just entirely amazing. She always taught me to be myself, and believe in myself. She was the first person to help me express myself in an artistic way. She used to love painting, and I would sit and watch her paint for HOURS. One day she took me to some painting lessons that we did together (we made some pretty neat stuff that I still have around my home). She always believed in me, and told me I could do anything I put my mind to. When she found out that I had started my photography business, she was just SO proud of me. She told me that she knew I was scared to start, but out of so much passion and creativity comes something beautiful, like with her talent when she first started to paint. Two days before my destination wedding last October she became quite ill and could not come to my wedding. She made sure to give my mom her very first painting (amazing yellow roses on a purple background) and along with it came a letter for me on my wedding day. She had always called that painting my rose, because it was the first one she ever did, and the big rose represented her and the little one next to it was me. She told me to follow my heart and I would do great things. A few weeks later she passed away, but she is always in my heart, and her painting is hanging in my home, where I can see her every day and talk to her. She was my sweetest thing, and always will be.
The sweetest thing is that awesome tingling you get in your stomach when you know you've hands-down captured the "moment." That moment in the photo that shows the genuine emotion...whether it's love, anticipation, romance, happiness, sadness. You know what I'm talking about...the tingle!
ReplyDeleteThe sweetest thing in the world to me is my sweet pea's (youngest child) cheeks! Here is a link to see them covered in frosting from his 1st birthday party earlier this year! http://justpeachyphotographybyerikawilliams.blogspot.com/2011/02/is-this-definition-of-happiness.html
ReplyDeleteSweet is fitting into your jeans that haven't been able to wear in a long time. :)
ReplyDeletelove these elements!!
the sweetness of the honey-mocha brown skinned girl on the subway...the one who gently touches your leg as she stands waiting for her momma to lead her through the sliding doors, but stands silently for a moment gazing up at you with her deep chestnut large round eyes, her tightly braided cornrows dangling down to her shoulders as the multi-colored blue beads tickle her soft skin, she quietly blinks her long lanquid lashes while a gentle smile spreads across her delicate rosebud lips...she lifts just her small unmarred fresh fingertips and gently bends them to say hello--or goodbye--while she steps forward through the crevice into her tomorrow, glancing back for a millisecond (did she really turn around) as your heart flutters for a brief second at the innocence and purity of this beautiful child, this small gift in your day, and you smile resolute in your belief that in every child there is a gift of goodness and purity that can touch your heart like a silent breath of warm air..sweetness personified
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet things are my little cousins! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! These comments are all wonderful and have been so fun to read! I love the previous one about fitting into your jeans... funny thing is, it's because of my love of sweets that I DON"T fit into my jeans! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a ton of favorite "sweets" from the smell of my baby boys neck to the bed headed wake up I get from my sweet daughter each morning all the way to devine chocolate cake that I would eat every. single. day. If I didn't mind becoming a cow... again... the jeans!
Anyway, of all my favorite sweets I must share this one: an eclair. Not only because they are simply indulgent and delish, but also because of the story behined my name...
While my mother was preparing to bring her fourth, and final, child into this world (yours truly) she and my father discussed names as all parents do. Emily as a first name was a given. My mom had a friend growing up who's name was Emily. My mother loved the way her red hair accentuated her darling freckles that were scattered across her nose and cheeks. So, Emily it was. On to the middle name... Claire. It was going to be Claire up until we were in the hospital. I was in their arms. Emily Claire. But just then my dad announced that I would not be an Emily Claire for he didn't want me to have a lifetime of torture as I might earn the nickname "eclair". My mother thought it was a silly reason and didn't think anyone would call me that except for my dad himself but asked him if he had a better idea. Robin. Robin is his name (Rob, we call him). And I suppose that my mom thought it was such a cute excuse to get his last baby named after him that she crumbled. And here I am, Emily Robin. I am honored to be named after my dad, but never would have cared if I was called "eclair" either. I mean, have you tasted one?! So what if you call me something so scrumptious as that! Sometimes my mom says she still wishes she named me Emily Claire. And, if what they say about "you are what you eat" is true, she did get her "eclair" afterall. An eclaire will always be a top contender an my "favorite sweets" list!
I would be thrilled to sport one of these delicious new blogs!!! I have so been wanting to update! And this would be a dream come true!
